Following up my post on the Telegraph about the ways in which we interact with computers, I spotted this TED talk titled Unveiling the "Sixth Sense", game-changing wearable tech on the Surrey LUG mailing list:
I just think that this is such an incredible contribution to the advancement of human-computer interaction. I remember reading almost a year ago about designs for a mobile phone that was surgically implanted into your forearm, somewhat like a tattoo.
Pranav has increased the number of useful applications of a smart phone with projection, and without turning us into Borg or Jake2.0. I can't wait to see this become commercially available, especially with that Minority Report style of gesturing commands.
Saw that a while back - it's really impressive stuff. I think they should consider using some sort of glasses instead of a projector mind you...
Glasses would be good, but I like that you can project a video or a presentation onto any surface whenever you feel like it. Google searching someone and projecting their tag cloud onto their tshirt is a little strange. It would be great for those "Hey, did you see this on Youtube?" moments though.
