Gareth Ogden is the Technical Marketing and Applications Specialist, North Europe, for Corsair Memory Inc, a worldwide leader in high performance computer and flash memory products.
This rather verbose job title refers to his dual role within Corsair. He is responsible for managing review samples and relationships with the technology media in the UK, Scandinavia and Benelux, while as an Applications Specialist he also produces technical marketing materials (‘Application Notes’) and carries out product evaluation/testing for Corsair.
Before joining Corsair Memory Inc., Gareth spent eight years on the other side of the fence as a technology journalist and product reviewer. He was the Technical Editor of PC Pro magazine, one of the UK’s biggest and most respected print IT titles. He then went on to create and successfully launch Custom PC magazine, a high-end, enthusiast magazine dedicated to performance PCs and overclocking, which he edited for four years. In 2004 he was short-listed by the British Society of Magazine Editors for ‘The Fiona Macpherson New Editor of the Year Award’.
Gareth has been building and tinkering with computers for as long as he can remember, starting with an 8KB Tandy system and working up through 48K Spectrum, C64 and the Atari ST until he finally got serious with a 386SX and Wolf 3D! His latest project outside of computers is building a 1/10th scale radio-controlled buggy, which he intends to race (hopefully with some success!)
He lives in Hertfordshire with his wife, Sarah, and lazy ginger cat, Fred.
